Steps to enable or disable auto complete feature in PeopleTools 8.53

In PeopleTools 8.53,  "Type Ahead"/"AutoComplete" is causing some concerns when entering values in some PeopleSoft pages.  Users are experiencing a problem when typing an entry into a field.  While typing, the cursor will jump back to the beginning of line causing errors in the entered values.  This is an issue with the browser and the PeopleSoft application.

Users can enable/disable type ahead feature by themselves by following the below steps:

1.  Navigate to Main Menu > My Personalizations.
2. Click the "Personalize Navigation Personalizations" link.
3.  To turn off the AutoComplete feature, under the Override Value option, use the drop down list to select NO. Then, click the OK button.
4. On the Save Confirm screen, click the Return button.
5. Log out of the application and login again for the changes to become effective.

 To enable/disable type ahead feature at the system level for all users follow the below steps:

1.  Navigate to PeopleTools - Personalization - Personalization Options.
2.  Search for 'PPTL'.
3.  Go to 'Format' tab.
4.  In the 'Define Personalization' grid, for 'TYPEAHD' setting, click the 'Set Option Default Value' link.
5.  Set the value = No (or yes) and click Ok.
6.  Save the changes.
